TRAQ - promoting our sport

Trail Running Association of Queensland.
The association's aim is to promote trail running for fun, fitness and as a sport. The committee uses membership monies raised to hold events, training sessions and to keep members informed of happenings in the world of trail running. 

Did you know:

That Bill Thompson has completed no less than 9 Glass House 100 mile trail runs.

That David Waugh has completed the fastest time for the Glasshouse 100.

That Peggy Macqueen has completed the fastest time for a lady contestant in the Glasshouse 100.

The hard working race director Ian Javes has been running it since 1990.

SERIES AWARDS

Each year points are awarded to all finishers in the latter three runs ( May, July and September ) as follows for this year;
All finishers: 100 miles – 3pts ; 50 to 100 km – 2pts ; less than 50km – 1pt
Placegetters:  Outright Winner an extra 5 pts; 2nd an extra 3pts; 3rd an extra 2 pts and 4th an extra 1 pt.
First female gets 3pts extra; second 2pts and third 1pt.
The Male Series Winner receives the Ian Javes Trophy and a biscuit barrel.
The Female Series Winner receives the June Canavan Trophy and a biscuit barrel.
The biscuit barrels are made by Glasshouse Pottery who supply the Finishers mugs.

Dr June Canavan gave medical assistance when the 100 mile run started in 1996 and continued to do so for a number of years. She even completed the 50km run in September of 2002. June was tragically killed in a plane crash inNew Guinea when on her way to trek the Kokoda Track.
